I crafted my keynote speech around trends we saw in 2016, Ransomware behavior in 2017, and a trend forecast for 2018.
- We held our inaugural user conference in San Francisco yesterday.
- It was the first ever HIPAA Compliant Email user conference.
- Guests and speakers flew in from North Carolina, Oregon, Florida and Hawaii to be a part of it.
Yesterday’s Paubox SECURE Conference was a resounding success. The venue afforded majestic views of Alcatraz Island, the Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito. It was an auspicious day for us.
Here are my pics and commentary. Enjoy!
Cowell Theater is on the water in San Francisco’s Marina District.
You could see large anchovy schools feeding at the surface in the morning. It was an auspicious day, especially with such a view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Welcome to Cowell Theater. The theater had a stool with, “John Kerry sat here” scribbled on it. Clever.
Our CMO Rick Kuwahara going over the game plan one more time.
The lineup. One of these days we’ll look back and smile on this day. Fond memories.
Shannon Honda with a Paubox pop-up banner. He dutifully spent most of the day outside helping attendees find parking. Parking was tricky.
Roger Manson greeting Anya Schiess as she arrived. I think he wanted a lei of his own too lol.
Our first panel featured Anya Schiess, Greg Reber and Brent Newhouse. Lots of valuable takeaways from this panel.
Bluegrass Biggs and I did a Fireside Chat around Surviving a HIPAA Audit. We had a lot of fun.
We got a lot of compliments on the quality of our speakers and content. Our CMO Rick Kuwahara (far left) did an outstanding job moderating the panels.
Salim Kizaraly, co-founder of Stella Technology, networking with Nick John of Redox.
Backstage selfie with Greg Hoffman (Head of Sales) and Bluegrass Biggs, the man with style for days. Case in point, that’s a beaver skin hat he’s wearing.
Cowell Theater afforded a high ceiling reception area with fantastic views of Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge.
I introduced Tirto Adji of Palapa Ventures to Jared Cohen of Skyview Capital. We are backed by Palapa and Jared was in town from Los Angeles. He stopped by to check us out. Tirto told me he specifically wore his aloha shirt for our conference. Good stuff.
Rebecca Woodcock and Suraj Mehta from 500 Startups stopped by to show their support. We were in Batch 18 (Summer 2016). EIR Ryan Williams was there too, I missed him by a few minutes. #500Strong
Our Inbound Marketing Specialist Arianna Etemadieh captured content all day. Here she is filming panelists Shawn Savadkohi and Greg Reber.
Adnan Raja of Atlantic.net flew in from Orlando to join us. We’re pleased Atlantic.net came in as a corporate sponsor.
The Wake for the Fax Machine was a hit. Quite a few people shared a fax memory, mostly of pain and frustration.
Bluegrass Biggs sharing a fax machine remembrance.
Roger Manson and his wife Leslie Banta. We’ve all known each other since our days at Critical Path back in the early 2000s.
#BTS with Phuong “The Rhino” Tran and Evan “Fitz” Fitzgerald
Blaine Kahoonei and Tushar Dubey catching up. I’m pretty sure Blaine has the best tan in the city.
